W. Joshua Johnson, Ph.D., ABPP-CN

Dr. W. Joshua Johnson is board certified in clinical neuropsychology. He earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and specialized in Neuropsychology. He completed multiple training rotations in clinical neuropsychology prior to completing an internship at Hines VA Hospital in the Chicagoland area. After earning his Ph.D., he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. He completed training rotations at the Mohammad Ali Parkinson's Center, the Center for Transitional Neurorehabilitation, the inpatient neurorehabilitation unit, and in the outpatient neuropsychological assessment center. He has since worked in concussion clinics, acute rehabilitation hospitals, at VA Long Beach Healthcare system, and now in private practice full-time. He earned a diplomate in Clinical Neuropsychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology in 2015. He served as the neuropsychological consultant to the Anaheim Ducks for the NHL Concussion Program from 2015-2024. He conducts neuropsychological assessments for former professional athletes with a history of concussion and other head injuries. He specializes in working with adults with a variety of neurological and/or psychiatric illnesses or injury, including traumatic brain injury, stroke, encephalitis, brain tumor, and various degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Lewy body disease, or primary progressive aphasias.

Dr. Johnson was born and raised in California. He enjoys playing golf, watching sports, including basketball, track & field, and football; spending time in Southern California with his immediate and extended family, including his wife and young daughters; working with clients; and keeping active physically and mentally.
